Dredging contractors need reliable navigational support and the ability to effectively monitor their operations. QINSy from QPS is an integrated data acquisition, processing and presentation package with a module designed for the real-time controlling and monitoring of dredging operations. It uses sensors to calculate the exact location of the dredge-tool and to perform TDS and production calculations. The display visualizes the dredging tool relative to digital terrain model layers that contain information on survey depth and theoretical profile. The dredging process can be monitored using a powerful real-time 3D display that uses multiple perspectives from different camera views.
